This Place is GREAT! The Lowes Foods Clayton Store Manager Steve is professional, friendly, approachable and relatable! I drive out of my way to this store b/c the overall tone of the store is much more customer-friendly! I used to go to the Garner Store (GAG!). Kudos to the Clayton team! BIG KUDOS to Larry (Deli), Ms. Verna (Deli); Lorraine (Bakery); Amy (Produce); Selena (Produce); Mary (Customer Service); Cherie (Customer Service); Stephanie (Cashier). The weekend cashiers ARE ALSO AWESOME! The Salad Bar is THE BOMB.COM as are the dried fruits and bottled water. Love This Place!

Super clean store and stocked. Parking is a little crowded. Beer and wine selection is amazing! I like how the checkout lines are named after local streets. Prices seem high unless you’re buying from the weekly sales flyer.

I shop at this location because it is convenient, but I am quickly learning I have to be careful with meat. More often than not, fish from the counter that is on sale is verging on or has gone bad. And you can't tell until you bring it home and the smell fills your kitchen when you unwrap it to cook it. Its not a standard fishy smell, its a fish that has gone bad smell.

I have always had the best service here. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. It’s really above and beyond type of service that I experience too. For instance one time I went in not realizing the deli counter had recently closed. The man working was still there cleaning up and educated me on the hours for the hot food counter and deli counter and even though they were closed he still helped me get the items I needed. I made sure to let management know he went above and beyond the expectation of normal service.

I'm a retail chain store manager and I know how much I pay my cashiers, last time I checked my bank account Lowe's Food has yet to pay me for my time ringing the groceries myself. Companies that now rely heavily on self checkout are rage inducing..& don't tell me you don't have the payroll because I see all the associates chillin by customer service not doing a damn thing. I get that it's convenient for shoppers with only a few items, but the way things are set up at self checkout appeals to customers with large orders to choose that option instead of waiting in a line, I know what you're doing there with them spinny bag holder things don't play coy. There have been times though where it seems like some folks are getting their rocks off playing cashier, no judgement that's just not me, but good on you for making their dreams come true! I hate a register. I realize the store more than likely doesn't have a say in the matter and it is what it is and I'm complain to a brickwall.

Moving on!! Its a rather clean store, prices are a bit high but you're also sort of paying for a better shopping experience. Go to *any* Food Lion at any time of day and them fools have pallets on the floor along every single aisle blocking access to product while stocking shelves and its a nightmare, they give *zero* bleepity bleeps about the customer's experience. Lowe's also has a much broader the selection and even has the weird ingredients you've never heard of that you will not find in a Walmart or Food Lion. Great place to shop for specialty diets as well due to the wide assortment.

Not the biggest fan of its location in proximity to Shotwell, during certain times of days it's almost impossible to turn left out of there. I simply changed the time I shop to avoid the traffic, problem solved.

Lastly! Not enough of the smaller buggies, ever since they became a thing I have preferred them. I'll usually just snatch one out of a corral on my way in, problem solved again. #selfreliant.

Last lastly..If you ever shop past 9 PM all registers are closed and they only run self checkout. However, if you ask they will open a register and ring you out (if you are like myself and despise self checkout). Probably not stoked to do it but I stand by my principles (as well as on bitniz). That is all.

Not very good service. Also, make sure you check the dates of perishables, I have gotten bad items, The last straw was getting a carton of milk yesterday. It had been opened and returned. The store put it back in the cooler. Lord only knows if someone took it home and put something in it. Consider that the late time I will go to that store. There are too many better places to shop. Talking about you Publix. A bit farther away but crossing that nightmare intersection, about the same time.

We stopped in the store this evening simply to pick up a couple of submarine sandwiches for dinner. There was a minor issue encountered while we were in the store. Upon leaving, I had the opportunity to speak with the Manager Dwight about what had happened. Dwight took the time to explain why this had transpired and was able to take note for training opportunities. So, why the 5-Star review? Well, for years this store has maintained high standards and nearly every interaction is exemplary. Tonight, Dwight demonstrated why this location excels. Strong Leadership and fantastic Employees are not an accident. Dwight is clearly a Man that cares, and he is a credit to the Lowes Food Brand.
